Kirklees Council confirmed today that a contractor has been appointed and the works to start the improvements of Shepley Children's Play Area are planned for later in the summer. This is the first of three phases of improvements to children’s play provision in Shepley over the next couple of years.
The attached photos show what the initial design will look like, more work will be done to enhance the offering and also improve play provision at the Jos Lane Play Area when the monies from the house building on Abbey Road in Shepley start to come through.
Commenting on the plans Cllr Taylor said;
”Creating better facilities for our young people to play is an important in our communities.
These proposals will transform what is currently a very tired looking Play Area, the addition of new equipment will present a much better environment for local children and being sited next to the school is an ideal location.
I hope that the work will be completed in time for the start of the new school year.”
