I was born in Mirfield and have been in the town all my life, becoming a local activist for road safety measures in Upper Hopton in 2003. After my work improving local roads I joined Mirfield Town Council first as a volunteer in 2004 and was elected to Kirklees Council in 2006, and then served in the role of Town Mayor from 2013 to 2016. I have worked for Mirfield for 18 years, tirelessly championing the town and working to improve conditions for everyone.
I have been a long-serving member of ‘Mirfield Educational Charity’, which supports educational, sporting, and other activities and facilities for under 25s in Mirfield. I feel very strongly about supporting our young adults and providing for them. Our youth are the adults of tomorrow and as a councillor, I always look for ways to invest in their development.
Over the past 18 years, I have successfully delivered projects and initiatives in the local area, focusing on my portfolio with Mirfield Matters on leisure facilities. I continue to work hard on providing better play equipment as part of our Playable Spaces program.
I strongly believe in Mirfield, and as a councillor I consistently push Kirklees for a better, fairer, measurable deal for Mirfield, ensuring that we get our fair share of support. I have always been on hand to support local residents. If re-elected I will continue to work hard for the residents of Mirfield.
A local Councillor for local matters, serving the residents of Battyeford, Crossley, Easthorpe, Hopton, and Northorpe.
Your priorities are my priorities.
